As part of the Asia Week event we organized a lecture for children from kindergarten Zeměkoule. The topic was the Himalayas and the local culture.

Asia Week in kindergarten Zeměkoule

As part of the Asia Week event we organized a friendly meeting for children from kindergarten Zeměkoule. We talked about the highest mountains in the world, about the importance of yaks and about the devotion to Buddha. Children were most interested in authentic items of Tibetan Buddhism. They tried on local dresses and local shoes from yak skin. Eventually, everyone tried looking through the wooden mask of the protectors of Buddha.

During the chat children soon became comfortable with Odzer and asked him a lot of questions about his native village. We also showed them slides and short videos from Zanskar region. They most they loved the children’s songs from the village of Kargyak
After a nice one hour spent together we all said Julley, which in Zanskari language means goodbye.
